2016 Pheasant Population
Well it is getting close to that time of year again when the mornings start to get cooler and the leaves start to change colors. We all know what that means….PHEASANT OPENER in a little over a month! This also means that it is time to make sure that the dogs are in shape (hopefully they have been all summer), the shotguns are ready, and definitely do not forget about making sure that you are ready.
We have been getting a lot of questions about how the pheasants are here compared to the last couple years. From what we can tell by being out in the fields all the time and keeping a close eye on things, to us the pheasant population is doing fantastic this year. However, the South Dakota Game and Fish has released their 2016 Brood Survey and has determined that the population has decreased this year. Hopefully people do not live by those findings.
Everybody is excited to get their dogs out in the fields to flush up or point out some roosters and hear that glorious cackle. The birds are here and they are plentiful. We have some outstanding hunting land, bountiful pheasants, and an amazing staff that will do what it takes to make sure you have an unforgettable experience!
